What to expect
As a healthcare support worker (HCSW), you will need to be able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff across the Trust. You’ll also need to understand and be able to record patient data clearly.
We know that recruiting staff with the right values and behaviours is essential for CUH to continue to provide kind, safe and excellent care to patients. So you will have an interview that will focus on these areas.

You will receive a job offer within 48 hours of your interview.

Literacy and numeracy
As a healthcare support worker (HCSW), you will need to be able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff across the Trust. You’ll also need to understand and be able to record patient data clearly. For these reasons, it’s very important that you have a good level of English and Maths (GCSE Grade D /3 equivalent).
After the interview you will need to complete literacy and numeracy screening to assess the level you are working at and put in any support needed.
